For you to be here, you already have a sense that something needs checking. A smell that hangs around too long. A task that’s been kicking up too much dust. An uneasy feeling that you’re not doing enough.
But knowing you should assess and knowing how far to go are two very different things. Maybe you’re worried about spending too much on something you don’t need. Maybe you’ve seen other companies get talked into the full treatment when a lighter touch would’ve done the job. Or maybe you just don’t know where to start.
We understand that hesitancy. Most people come to us with more questions than answers. You’re trying to make the right call without all the information yet, and that’s not an easy place to start. That’s why our approach is based on practicality and transparency, so you get the exposure assessment that’s the best fit for your site.
We start with a conversation, not a quote
Before we ever pick up a monitor, we start by getting to know what you’re trying to achieve. Some businesses just need peace of mind that their current measures are working. Others need a more comprehensive understanding and fast.
Whatever your starting point, we’ll make the effort to understand where you are now and where you’re aiming to be, then help you determine which assessment is most sensible for your budget and overall objectives.
Three levels of assessment, choose what fits
Every site is different. That’s why we offer three levels of exposure assessment, so you can start small and only scale up if it makes sense to.
Tier 1. Initial Review
Sometimes the first step is just getting an overview of what’s happening day to day. An Initial Review does exactly that. With our professional skills and experience, we can gauge the situation to identify priority areas. We’ll spend some time on site, walk through your key processes, take some baseline readings, and note anything that stands out, like areas where dust tends to hang.
You’ll receive a summary and clear next steps, so you can put a plan into action straight away.
Tier 2. Targeted Assessment
If you already know where the trouble spots are, there’s no need to start from scratch. A Targeted Assessment looks at any common culprits, whether it's the sanding bay, the spray booth, or the chemical store. We’ll take detailed samples, analyse the results, and map out what controls can be put in place.
The report will explain all findings in plain language, with a list of practical fixes.
Tier 3. Comprehensive Analysis
For larger sites where there’s more at play, it pays to see the whole picture. A Comprehensive Analysis pulls together every moving part, including the tasks, trends, and patterns that lighter checks can miss. We’ll monitor your site, compare results over time, and highlight your biggest risks, and opportunities.
It’s a bigger undertaking, but it can become the foundation of your long-term plan around occupational health risks. Once you’ve seen the data laid out in front of you, decisions about investment into controls become much easier.
What you can expect with Air Matters
We believe good data builds trust, and that starts with transparency in how we work. No matter which level of occupational hygiene assessment you choose, our site visits will always be:
Carried out by qualified professionals with experience in a range of workplaces
Accompanied by a fixed-cost proposal that explains what we recommend and why
Commitment to quality and clear communication
Every assessment also ends with a follow-up from one of our consultants to explain what the results mean for your site. We don’t expect our clients to be as passionate about air quality as we are, so we don’t just hand over a report and leave you to work it out yourself. We’ll talk through the recommendation and make sure you understand the findings.
Ready to talk?
If you’re still not sure which assessment fits your needs, give us a call. Tell us about your site, your people, and what’s behind your concerns, even if it’s just a gut feeling that something’s off.
We’ll listen, ask a few questions, and recommend the right level of assessment for your situation. No more, no less. Because the aim isn’t to measure everything on site, it’s to have enough information to tackle the risks and prioritise action.
We cover more of the basics in our Frequently Asked Questions section.
